How many times have you imagined having an assistant that would do all the things you didn't want to do for you? Did you ever once imagine a person who could move your body for you and you would reap the benefits? While we may have supportive friends, family, and mentors to guide us, there are certain aspects of personal growth and self-discovery that no one can do for us. Moving the body is certainly one of them. Let's explore the ways where no one can do it for you!

  1. Embracing Personal Responsibility:

Taking responsibility for your life is a fundamental step towards self-empowerment. It is essential to recognize that external factors, while influential, do not entirely dictate your path. No one can live your life for you, make decisions on your behalf, or face the consequences of your actions. You must actively participate in shaping your destiny and be accountable for the choices you make.

  1. Discovering Your True Self:

Self-discovery is a deeply personal and introspective journey. While others can offer guidance and insights, only you can truly explore your inner self and understand your values, passions, and purpose. The process of self-discovery requires self-reflection, questioning, and embracing vulnerability. It is about acknowledging your strengths and weaknesses and accepting yourself for who you are. Outside validation/acceptance can be nice but NOTHING beats self-acceptance!

  1. Overcoming Challenges:

Life is full of challenges that test our resilience and determination. Although support from loved ones or a professional can be valuable, overcoming these hurdles requires inner strength and the will to persevere. Challenges are personal growth opportunities. No one can endure pain or confront adversity on our behalf. It is through facing these challenges head-on that you grow, learn, and evolve as an individual.

  1. Pursuing Your Dreams:

Dreams and aspirations are unique to each person. Whether it's a career goal, a creative endeavor, or a life-changing adventure, it's essential to take ownership of these dreams and actively work towards achieving them. Others may encourage and support you along the way, but the drive to follow your passions must come from within. No one can realize your dreams for you; it's your responsibility to turn them into reality.

  1. Cultivating Resilience:

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from setbacks and challenges. While you may receive support and encouragement during challenging times, it is your inner resilience that sustains you. Cultivating resilience involves embracing failures as learning opportunities, maintaining a positive mindset, and cultivating mental and emotional strength, all of which comes from deep within YOU. This is an INSIDE job.

  1. Nurturing Personal Growth:

Personal growth is a lifelong process that involves continuous learning, self-improvement, and expanding your horizons. While teachers, mentors, and experiences can help facilitate growth, it is up to you to actively seek knowledge, push yourself outside of your comfort zone, and be open to new perspectives. No one can force personal growth upon you; it is a choice you make for yourself every single day.

In a world where external influences and pressures often weigh heavily upon you, it is crucial to remember that no one can live your life for you. Embracing personal responsibility, self-discovery, and resilience allows you to chart your own path and create the life you desire filled with more Pleasure & Possibilities. While support from others is valuable, the power to shape your destiny ultimately lies within yourself. By taking ownership of your choices, dreams, and growth, you can embark on a fulfilling journey of self-realization and personal fulfillment. Remember, "No one can do this for you."

Call to Action

My mentor's request to you is to really sit with this and feel into it. Again, getting support is so valuable but that support person cannot, I repeat, cannot do the work for you! You MUST be willing to do the work. You MUST be willing to explore something new, ie.) ideas, taking new actions, meeting new people, etc.

Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't remind you that a great way to practice this concept is on the Groove DANCEfloor! Actually, any dance floor would work where you are encouraged to express yourself in your own unique and creative way. Conscious dance, Ecstatic Dance, 5 Rhythms, and Groove are all excellent ways to move your body and practice this truth – as well as the others.

In the Pleasure & Possibilities Membership, we practice this once every month in our Monthly Dance Experience which shifts between Groove and Conscious Dance. If you would like to learn more about the Membership, please visit www.avalonianmoon.com/join-the-membership.html to learn more and of course, if you feel so led, sign up and join us!

As always, I would love to hear what came up for you so please feel free to share your thoughts with me.

Until Next Time...
