We are in some powerful Full Moon energy! This is the final full moon of 2019 and this decade. Full Moon is for both celebration and release and as we prepare to enter a new decade, this is an excellent time to really dive within and explore what no longer serves. Working with The Shadow and the various archetypes involved with Shadow shines the light of awareness on what might be ready to be released. While I am still journeying with my own shadow energies, what I am learning is that to truly love and accept myself, I need to embrace ALL of me – including those aspects of me that I do not wish to look at or acknowledge. Yes, I have them. We all do.

We all have our light and our dark sides. There are times in our lives where we feel like The Victim, The Angry One, The Fearful One and so on. For me, when Brad passed away, I was most certainly feeling like the Angry One, The Fearful One and The Victim...among others...AND those energies definitely had their positive impact. Being embodied in Victim energy allowed me to go within and examine what I believed about life and what I wanted to believe as I moved forward. The Fearful One kept me feeling safe within the cocoon of my family and my support system at Widownet while I embarked on my healing journey. The Angry One showed me how to express myself and my needs in a healthy way as I journied forward as a single Mom re-discovering herself.

Within every life experience, there is a gift...a hidden treasure...and this includes your Shadows. To fully understand yourself, you must be willing to look at the totality of YOU. When you supress a part of yourself, you clog the flow of your life energy. When you make the healthy choice to look at your Shadows, you bring what you've placed into darkeness out into the light. You have freed the energy allowing it flow through you and out of you.

Your Shadow contains the natural, normal, and vital parts of yourself that you have hidden away for various reasons with the overarching reason being that it's unacceptable. Any aspect of yourself that you have put into Shadow will fester because it wats to be seen! Choosing to own your Shadow allows for a deeper level of self-acceptance, self-love, and inner peace and harmony.

With this final Full Moon of the decade, and as we approach the Winter Solstice, now is the perfect time to begin working with your Shadows, mining the gifts and consciously choosing to release what is ready to go!

Call to Action

Working with your Shadow is deep and sacred work. If you are ready to get started on the Shadow Journey, my mentor's request is to take out your journal and answer the following questions (taken from Debbie Ford's Book, “The Dark Side of the Light Chasers: Reclaiming Your Power, Creativity, Brilliance, and Dreams”):

  1. What am I most afraid of?

  2. What aspects of my life need transforming?

  3. What am I most afraid of that someone will find out about me?

  4. What am I most afraid of in finding out about myself?

Obviously, there is so much more to do in working with the Shadow but this journaling process will get you started in shining the light of awareness around your own Shadows.

As always, I would love to hear what you uncover for yourself with this exercise. Feel free to reach out to me to share what you've learned and of course, if you wish to receive some support as you explore your own Shadows, let's have a chat to see how I might be able to guide you on the journey.

Until Next Time...
